Sun, Skin, and SPF - How to Stay Radiant All Summer Long

And while soaking up a little sunshine feels good, unprotected UV exposure can cause premature aging, dark spots, and even skin cancer. UVA rays penetrate deep into the skin (aging rays), and UVB rays cause burns (burning rays)—neither are worth skipping SPF for!

  • Use Broad-Spectrum SPF 30+ or higher. Reapply every 2 hours (more often if sweating or swimming).

  • Don't forget overlooked spots like the ears, neck, hands, and lips.

  • Apply before leaving the house. Sunscreen takes about 15 minutes to activate.

  • Mineral sunscreens with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide are great for sensitive skin.
